There is a misconception in the industry that if we leave the EU you will no longer have to follow EU BPR regulations – this simply isn’t true.
The Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR, EU 528/2012) concerns the placing on the market and use of biocidal products, which are used to protect humans, animals, materials or articles against harmful organisms like pests or bacteria, by the action of the active substances contained in the biocidal product. This regulation aims to improve the functioning of the biocidal products market in the EU, while ensuring a high level of protection for humans and the environment.
If manufacturers of disinfectant wet wipes supply to a company that has European branches or manufacturing and exports to the EU, then they will still have to comply with EU BPR regulations.
Major distributors and food production companies with European footprints can rest assured that Allied will continue to work to the highest standards in the industry complying with BPR irrespective of the Brexit outcome.
